Encounter with Pauline L.Boulba
performer, writer, dance researcher

Pauline L. Boulba performs, teaches and writes. Her work focuses on feminist/transpédégouinebi* practices, archives and intimacy, which inform her books, ranging from her research-creation thesis CritiQueer la danse*, to the translation-investigation of writer, critic, feminist Jill Johnston, JJ, Tartine-moi et autres textes**, together with Aminata Labor, Rosanna Puyol-Boralevi and Nina Kennel.
This Fall she is in residency at CAPC museum, to develop her play and book project, Mille Shake, which addresses domestic violence, patriarchy and the ways of taking justice into one’s own hands. She will be coming to Books on the Move to talk about her relationship to writing, translation, research, somatic practices and the performative gesture.
